Flat Pull Curtains Processing Standards
For flat pull curtains, regardless of the style chosen, there are standard fabric requirements. Smaller windows may require more fabric to achieve a fuller look, while larger windows should use less fabric for easier storage.
- For widths over 4 meters, a 1.8 times fullness is recommended.
- For widths between 3 to 4 meters, a 2 times fullness is ideal.
- For widths between 2 to 3 meters, a 2.3 times fullness works well.
- For widths under 2 meters, a 2.5 times fullness is suggested.
First Processing Method: Track with Korean Pleats
Korean pleats involve fixing the pleats in place and attaching hooks. This processing method is the simplest and allows for easy installation and cleaning.
Korean pleats can be divided into two categories: with track coverage and without. If there is a curtain box or valance, or if a little light leakage is acceptable, then standard Korean pleats can be used. However, if strict light-blocking is required, the track-covering option is better.
Advantages of Track Coverage:
- It covers the track for improved aesthetics.
- It ensures tighter light-blocking at the top.
- The closed curtains appear more visually appealing.
Disadvantages:
- When stored, the top pleats may not remain tidy.
In wall-mounted installations, only single-layer curtain fabric can be used with track coverage; sheer fabrics cannot utilize this method due to limitations in the length of the wall-mounted brackets.
Roman Rods
Roman rods are ideal for exposed installations, providing a stylish and sophisticated appearance. The rods serve a decorative purpose and come in a variety of colors and styles. They are also relatively easy to install and remove. However, there are some drawbacks, including slight light leakage at the top and limited weight-bearing capacity (a single rod can typically support a maximum of three brackets). For very wide windows, it is advisable to avoid using Roman rods, with a preferred maximum width of 3.5 meters.
Processing Styles of Roman Rods
-
Punch Hole Processing: This method features strong three-dimensional pleats, creating a bold and elegant look. This style is exclusively for use with Roman rods.
-
Korean Pleat with Rings Processing: This style offers neat pleats and is easy to clean. It can be used with both tracks and Roman rods.
Important Note: When using a double-layer fabric with sheer curtains on a Roman rod, the inner sheer must utilize the Korean pleat with rings style due to limitations in the length of the rod brackets.
S-Shaped Curtain Processing: The Most Popular Curtain Installation Method in Australia
S-shaped curtains are becoming increasingly popular in Australia for their modern and stylish appearance. This installation method features a curved track system that allows curtains to hang in a soft, wave-like pattern, enhancing the overall aesthetic of any space.
